Ranch Ehrlo Society held its 60th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, September 23, in a virtual format, inviting internal and external stakeholders to take part in a year-in-review.

More than a formality, the annual meeting provides an opportunity for the executive and board to reflect on the fiscal year — celebrating the growth and achievements of programs and participants, sharing the financial position of the agency, and looking ahead to future priorities.

This year’s meeting was especially notable as it marked the 60th year for Ranch Ehrlo Society. Despite the anniversary falling outside of the 2025-2026 reporting period, planning and early celebrations began in February. The milestone recognized the agency’s exponential growth, evolution, and continued commitment to children, youth, families, and communities.

Board Chair Blair Swystun opened the meeting and delivered the Chair’s Report, recognizing the impact of thoughtful and deliberate investment in workforce and infrastructure over the past year.

Ranch Ehrlo Society was named a Saskatchewan Top Employer for the 15^th consecutive year, a distinction honouring the agency’s commitment to building brighter futures for participants and staff through continued investment.

“We continued to invest in facilities and infrastructure to support participants, staff, and communities.  Ehrlo Sport Venture and Paper Crane Expressive Arts Centre relocated to a new community hub in Regina. Construction began on a new $2.5 million gymnasium at the Buckland campus, and a new training space was acquired in Prince Albert,” explained Blair. “Upgrades were made at the Corman Park campus to create new administrative and training spaces, and additional investments improved recreation and accessibility across campuses.”

CEO Natalie Huber acknowledged the busy and exciting year,  sharing several highlights, beginning with the eight annual powwow. As one of our most anticipated annual events, the powwow brought together a record-breaking number of dancers, drummers, and community members.

In the spirit of collaboration, Natalie also shared  the Ranch’s  continued efforts to work and build relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and partners, recognizing these relationships are important to the delivery of care and participant outcomes.

“These relationships support ongoing dialogue, strengthened understanding of community needs, and increased awareness of agency programs,” she explained. “Staff also participated in cultural humility training and blanket exercises. A Kohkum in the Classroom program was introduced in eight southern youth classrooms. Northern education programs incorporated pipe ceremonies and cultural artists in their programs, further strengthening land-based learning opportunities and reconciliation-focused practice.”

Ehrlo Housing received City of Regina funding to support renovations at Lakeshore Village. Ehrlo Sport Venture was again selected for the Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, raising nearly $60,000 for sport and recreation programs.

“The true impact of our work is seen through the pride and dedication of our staff,” Natalie said in closing. “At each event I attend, I’m reminded how deeply our staff care, and how much progress our participants are making because of our staff’s commitment.”

 Shelley Reddekopp, vice-president of support services, went on to provide a high-level review of the financial results for 2025-2026. The 2025-2026 financial results for the agency were positive with the year-end results providing a net surplus of $3.9M.

The board announced its extension of Deloitte’s appointment as the agency’s audit service provider until 2026-2027 and welcomed new board members Shawn George, Lindy Pelletier, and Joleen McCullagh. Leaders extended their appreciation to retiring board members Robin Clarke and Louise Greenberg, who rotated off the board after the meeting.
