Intake and assessment
These programs are designed for intake, stabilization, and assessment of the youth entering our program. The majority of the residents coming to the Ranch Ehrlo Society begin here.
The Ranch believes in understanding each resident, both holistically and developmentally. Initial information on the youth is provided through documentation from the referring agency. Further understanding of the youth is sought through individual & family contact with the clinical caseworker and behavioural observations of the youth by the residential and educational teams.
We are searching for a better understanding of the youth in areas such as:
- Prenatal alcohol exposure
- Chronic childhood trauma exposure
- Suicidality and self-harm behaviour
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Pervasive developmental disorders
- Inattention and hyperactivity
- Language or speech
- Sensory integration
- Problems of conduct & antisocial behaviour
Assessment generally occurs over a period of time and consists of several components, including clinical interviews, behavioral observations in a variety of settings and standardized assessments.
Once the assessment process is complete, the results are integrated into a comprehensive report.
