Group Homes

Youth entering Ranch Ehrlo initially reside in one of five group homes located on the main campus near the town of Pilot Butte, five miles east of Regina. Youth become familiar with the Ranch Ehrlo way-of-life and a plan is developed to address their particular treatment needs. Youth are then located to one of several group homes or independent living apartments in Regina.
The programs prepare the youth to return to their families, to live independently, or to enter the world of employment. While living at the Ranch facilities each youth participates in daily group-living experiences that focus on co-operation, communication and planned activities.
A unit manager, who is a trained professional, heads the residential team. The team is made up of a case worker, youth service workers, child care workers and a housemother. These people work together with the education team to deliver a holistic service.

Since its inception in 1966, the Ranch Ehrlo Society has been governed by a volunteer board of directors. These volunteers contribute a significant amount of time to assist in the direction of programs and services for troubled youth. In recognition of this volunteer contribution and commitment to children, Ranch Ehrlo established a policy in the mid-1980's whereby residences and group homes were named after past presidents.
