General Information

Ranch Ehrlo Society is a non-profit, registered charitable organization dedicated to providing a range of quality assessment, treatment, education and support services that improves the social and emotional functioning of children and youth who have been referred to our program.

Ranch Ehrlo operates in a warm, nurturing environment that promotes dignity and self-respect, offsetting social, physical and psychological difficulties. Basic to this approach is cultural sensitivity and respect that celebrate differences.

Agency services are designed to create personal change leading to improved social skills. These occur through special education, activity programs, social programs and a variety of other involvements. We believe children tend to be and to become what they live. As a result, our program is designed to provide positive living experiences.

During its history, Ranch Ehrlo has helped more than 2,500 young people find faith in themselves and confidence in their futures, through a range of problem-solving, recreational and work experience.

The Ranch Ehrlo Society is dedicated to the provision of quality residential treatment services for children, youth, and young adults, who are experiencing a range of social, psychological, mental, psychiatric, and/or physical disabilities, through the provision of holistic, psycho-social therapies, designed to enhance the well-being of the individual and their families or significant caregivers. As well, the Ranch Ehrlo Society is committed to case and social advocacy on behalf of all children, youth, and young adults, with particular concern focused on those with disabilities.

Objectives that follow from the mission statement include the following:

• to develop and maintain quality services of care, education, and treatment for the young people in residence, and where possible their families, based upon a developmental approach to human growth and behaviour that incorporates recreation, education, work, and treatment as the four cornerstones of its service;
• to participate in programs of advocacy in mental health, child welfare, and education designed to enhance the well-being of children and families, through prevention services at the community level, thereby reducing the prevalence of abuse and neglect leading to out-of-home care.
