Thank you to the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Regina Prairie Thunder!

A great big thank you must go out to the members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Prairie Thunder for helping us kick off the 14th annual, Monday Night Football season. 

On Monday August 31, 2010 approximately 100 children and youth ranging in age from eight to 18 participated in a 6 station football camp run by some of Saskatchewan’s finest football players.  Although the rain refused to hold off, the Monday Night Football League, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Regina Prairie Thunder and other volunteers brought in some heat while practicing skills, drills and plays that are essential to football! 

Thank you to everyone for making this kick off  a success, no matter what mother nature had to offer!

THANKS TO THE POWER OF SPORT 4 KIDS PROGRAM (POS4K) FOR THEIR DONATION OF SPORTING GOODS TO THE SPORT VENTURE LIBRARY

Recently, the Sport Venture program recieved a very large donation in the form of sporting goods from the Power of Sport 4 Kids program, managed by the Forzani Group Ltd.

Will Bradley of SportChek, Shannon Cattell of Sport Venture and Christie Waechter of SportChek stand with some of the equipment donated by POS4K.

Items include 24 skateboards, 24 skipping ropes, 12 badminton Sets, 6 dodgeballs, 6 outdoor kick balls, 18 mesh ball bags, 60 soccer balls, 40 pinnies, one street hockey set, 12-20 left handed baseball gloves, 2 pairs of each size roller blades in adult sizes 8, 9, and 10, 6 soft skin speed skin balls and team flag football sets.

Sport Venture would like to send out a huge thank you to POS4K for their generous donation of sporting equipment which greatly enhanced our lending library.

The Sport Venture Library provides equipment free-of-charge to individuals and groups working with inner-city youth. Over 200 individuals and groups currently access equipment from the Library.
