Holiday Generosity Benefits Ehrlo Counselling Services
Chocolates by Bernard Callebaut store owner, David Loblaw, proudly presented a check for over $1,200 to Ehrlo Counselling Services Director, Bree Fiissel and Ehrlo Community Services Vice-President, Malcolm Neill following a very popular in-store contest over the Christmas season. The contest/fundraiser sent one lucky customer home with a 30-pound chocolate Santa, while the proceeds from draw entries went to Ehrlo Counselling Services. The money raised will go directly to funding pro bono counselling services.

Ken Dryden Meets the OHL
On the afternoon of Friday, January 18th, the Outdoor Hockey League had the unique privilege of meeting hockey legend Ken Dryden. While in Regina, Dryden took some time out to visit the Grassick Park rink, where he signed autographs and posed for a few pictures before getting out on the ice with the kids (and volunteers) for a quick boot hockey game.

Ken Dryden is best known for his years on the ice with the Montreal Canadians from 1971-1979, winning six Stanley Cups and establishing himself as the NHL’s premier goalie.

“We are very thankful to Mr. Dryden for his time”, said Sport Venture coordinator, Kim Langston. “It was definitely the highlight of the OHL season!”

Avant-Garde Fashion Show April 26th
The 4th annual Avant-Garde High Fashion & Hair Show is taking place on April 26, 2008 at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. Tickets are $35.00 each and are on sale now at Avant-Garde College, 1033 8th Avenue. All funds raised will go towards two bursaries for Cosmetology and Esthetics.

Fantasy Food 2008
Fantasy Food 2008 Charity Gala is being held on March 29th at the Saskatchewan Science Centre. It is a fun-filled evening featuring tasting booths from many of Regina's finest restaurants, wine merchants and microbreweries; live entertainment; live and silent auction. 9th Annual Coca-Cola Cup
On March 8th and 9th the OHL will be hosting its annual Coca-Cola Cup year-end tournament at the Pense Memorial Rink. Atom and Bantam division players will be going head-to-head to defend the glory of their city rinks – and it always promises to be great competition! Many thanks go out to the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for its continued support, providing the ice-time and beverages for this tournament.

$10,000 Donation to Ehrlo Counselling Services
In December, 2007, Ehrlo Counselling Services was presented with a donation of $10,000 from the Donald and Claire Kramer Foundation.

This donation will go directly toward funding pro bono counselling services for individuals and families who are unable to receive support due to gaps in services or financial limitations. Ehrlo Counselling provides pro bono counselling to families, many in the greatest need of intervention. This includes individuals and families that have tried to access community programs or supports but have been unsuccessful.

“It is Ehrlo Counselling’s mandate to help all families in need, regardless of socio-economic status, whenever we are able and have the resources to do so,” said Bree Fiissel, director of Ehrlo Counselling Services. “This contribution to our pro bono service will assist us in fulfilling this goal.”
